freelance designer named Jamila Johnson.

"My love affair with clothes began as a young
girl. Almost every Saturday, my mother would
take me & my brother to the local mall. I spent
most of my time in the After Five section of the
department stores. I roamed the aisles armed
with a fresh bag of cherry sours transfixed on
all the beautiful textures, colors and shapes,
rearranging them in my head & I haven't
stopped since.

My creativity was encouraged while growing up. My mother enrolled me in
private art lessons during my preteens and I attended Art Summer Camp
@ Arts magnet High School. It led me to major in Fashion Design in
college where a whole new world opened up for me.
I compare designing clothes to the frames that showcase art.
My customers are the art . My clothes are the frame.
Picking just the right frame can only enhance the obvious beauty of the
artwork.
Right now, MiMi Chic is a one woman show run from home but, I'm positive
that expansion is on the horizon."
